Vogelvlei Yacht Club’s Tour de Vlei will be held on 8-9 October 2022

Tour de Vlei is the only dinghy longhaul regatta in the Western Cape Sailing Calendar.

SCHEDULE

• Registration: Saturday 8 October 2022 from 09h30 to13h30.
• Dates of racing:
  • Saturday 8 October 2022: Tour de Vlei. Skippers briefing at 13h30
  • Sunday 9 October 2022: Tour de Vlei, should wind and weather conditions are not conducive to holding the Tour de Vlei on Saturday 8 October 20222. If Tour de Vlei is sailed as intended on Saturday 8 October, then the club will run fun racing or Speed Trials (to be decided – weather dependent).
• The scheduled time of the warning signal for the Tour de Vlei on Saturday 8 October 2022, is 14h30.
• The scheduled time for the warning signal of the Tour de Vlei sailed on Sunday 9 October, should it not be possible to sail it on Saturday 8 October, or any subsequent races on Sunday 9 October 2022 will be displayed on the regatta notice board. On Sunday 9 October, the skippers briefing will be at 09h00, with a start not before 09h30. There will be no warning signal for racing on Sunday 9 October after 12h00.

PAYMENT AND ENTRY FEES

Please pay your entry and catering as follows:

To qualify for a discount, emailed early bird entries to be received by 12h00 Friday 30 September 2022 along with the related EFT Proof-of-payment.

Entry Fees are as follows:

• Juniors (single handed): (Early bird R 90): R110
• Juniors (double handed): (Early bird R 140): R160
• Senior Single-handed: (Early bird R 160): R190
• Senior Double-handed: (Early bird R 190): R230
  Keelboats & double-handed Multihulls: (Early bird R 190): R230

Entry Fees to be paid by close of Registration; i.e on Saturday 8 October 2022 before the skippers briefing. Payments by EFT to be completed by 17h00 on Wednesday 5 October 2022, and Proof of payment forwarded to accounts@vyc.co.za. Failure pay entry fees will result in the affected yacht being recorded as ‘Did Not Compete’ until such time as the required cash payment/s are made. This changes rule A11(DNC).

Early Bird Junior single entries may convert to Double handed upon registration at the club by paying the difference.

Overnight fees are payable by all non-sailing guests as follows: R50 per adult and R30 per child 12-19 years. Entry fees do cover Overnight Fees for participants.
